Fucking Frost, Fucking Cats . . .
So I carefully covered my plants last night only to have Sylver, our big fat blue tabby, lay her ass in my two pots of white Christmas cactus, so I'm hoping it makes a recovery, I'm pretty sure most of it will die. I cannot do that again so if I bring them in Sunday (the low tonight is to be 40 so it shouldn't be too bad) that will be the only way to keep them safe. My kingdom for a greenhouse just one little greenhouse!

Watering Day . . .
Just came in from watering the plants, Sunday I'll have to cover them, there'll be frost. Going to gather them in the middle of the porch around the one planter out there and use the planter as a tentpole for a sheet to they stay fairly safe. It won't be freezing but it will be close. I moved my strawberries to the sunny side of the porch because I read they need full sun and daily water, though the water I'm not going to do, they are doing fine as they are so I'm not rocking the boat, they don't get completely dry, I water every 3rd day. The lily of the valley isn't dead yet but it's not producing either GODS I hope they make plants I want them so very very badly. I have (at some point) copper drop lilies and bleeding heart on the way I may not get them until early March, and 2 Duranta come mid February. Cannot WAIT for those.
Later, 5:27 p.m.: I actually was looking at my lily of the valley and I do believe it is thriving, I know one of the pips is. I bet they all do fairly well by full spring, let's see!

Deadheading . . .
Ok so today I decided to pull the deadness off the plants so they can cleanly regenerate. I was looking at the 10 day and I'm a bit taken down by a couple of things, one, Sunday is supposed to be really windy, so my strawberries are going to have to come down and be protected, and two, the lows in a few days are going to creep back down into the upper 30s. So covering will be essential, I may even have to bring them in for a night or two. Otherwise everything is growing, making new growth, and recovering nicely though I am a tad concerned about my pink Cala lily, she seems to be coming up puny. But we'll see, mostly she needs a bigger pot and more space, the Amaryllis too. But in time, now is not a good repotting time they need to gain strength. Still no jalapeno sprouts just yet. I'm impatient!

2017 Gardening. . .
Starting out with strawberries, lily of the valley and jalapenos. The strawberries are doing very well, the rest are undecided. I also still have the zebra cactus, hawarthia, hosta, bletilla orchid, pink cala, amarillis, mini rose, not sure about the crepe myrtle or the confederate rose, we'll see if they regenerate, I'm about to get more anyway. Will have some duranta coming in next month, this month a copper drop lily and some fern leaf bleeding heart. We'll see how it goes. It's an assortment, white, red and pink. When I get more soil I'll plant the rest of my seed. Going to be wonderful!
